Now is the Time

Writen By: Gilbert/Harrison/Morley/Saxton/Timms

This song was written late 1989 and was another contender for Head First, but also a casualty. It didn't find itself in the set much, and was never heard again once Head First was released. It was however regularly used to sound check, since it featured Keyboards and "wide ranging" vocals. The version on Days of Darkness was recorded live at Ilkeston Wine Vaults 12th of October 1989.

Today seemed such a strange day
Everything just wouldn't go right
Then I managed to rise above things
When someone walked into my sight

She acts as if she don't know me, if she could only read my mind
The things that I could to her, who knows what she could find

She'll find I'm not as bad as I look
She might find what she's looking for
Well I just love her slinky lines
But up till now she just shows me the door

Just a glance across the room is all I need to keep my feelings true
She sends shivers down my spine and I know...
Now is the time

I only see her now and then
But when I do it just drives me mad
I wonder how you get close to her
To get the things I've never had

She acts as if she don't know me, if she could only read my mind
The things that I could to her, who knows what she could find

Her heart is set on another guy
But I don't let that get me down
One day she might change her mind
And I'm here waiting to be found

Just a glance across the room is all I need to keep my feelings true
She sends shivers down my spine and I know...
Now is the time

Now I can see that this isn't the case
I don't think things are gonna change
I don't stand a chance of winning this race
Cos I'm too far out of range

She acts as if she don't know me, if she could only read my mind
The things that I could to her, who knows what she could find

The hardest part is sleeping with your thoughts
Paralysed with what you want to do
Show me how I can put it right
I'll be forever in debt to you

Just a glance across the room is all I need to keep my feelings true
She sends shivers down my spine and I know...

Now is the time
