Shadow of the Dark

Writen By: Gilbert/Harrison/Morley/Reynolds/Saxton/Timms

Though this song was written in 1992 it still bears a connection to Stella. The chorus was actually scribbled down as an idea by Craig Reynolds, and Dean never throws anything away. Exactly when this song was aired, if at all, is unsure, it probably only got played at the last gig on 12th of September 1992 at Heanor Leisure Centre.

Love will come and love will go
In the twinkling of an eye
Leave you standing on your own
Never really knowing why
Well it sets your mind on fire
Ignites with one small spark
But the spirit of the love child
Is just the shadow of the dark

How did I lose control
Of my empty heart
How did I lose it all
To the shadow of the dark

Love rules an evil empire
Can cause all men to kill
It can be used as blackmail
To force you against your will
It plants the seeds of revolution
And can change the world by night
One wrong move will take it's toll
Overpowered without a fight

How did I lose control
Of my empty heart
How did I lose it all
To the shadow of the dark

Love kills your rationality
Makes you act with a foolish mind
Send you off on a lonely road
Sense and reason left so far behind
It hides a purpose dark and evil
When it's put to great abuse
Confure your understanding
Blinded by loves sightless truth

You think that it's over
When you're crying in the dark
But you don't see the threat of love
From the shadow of the dark

How did I lose control
Of my empty heart
How did I lose it all
To the shadow of the dark

Love will come and love will go
In the twinkling of an eye
Leave you standing on your own
Never really knowing why
Well it sets your mind on fire
Ignites with one small spark
But the spirit of the love child
Is just the shadow of the dark
