Miss Issippi Missed

Writen By: Gilbert/Harrison/Morley/Reynolds/Saxton/Timms

This song was probably the best of Headstrong's "Short Punchy Numbers". It was the first to feature harmony guitars and the first time Steve got a guitar solo. The play on words in the title was devised by Craig Reynolds (now in DIP) when he and Dean were in a band called Stella, the idea was stored away and turned into a song for Headstrong. And for those who still haven't worked it out, she "missed" her period.

Well I know a little missy
Her name was Miss Issippi
She runs around an tells her tales
She came from up above
But asking for her love
Is like asking for the Holy Grail

Can you see her... Oh Miss Issippi

Standing on the corner
Touting all her wares
Lead the rich and famous
Up the stairs
Slipping in and out
Of high class cars
But dining in those seedy bars

You can feel her... But only if you pay for Miss Issippi

You can look at her if you like
Any man would
But if you want to take her home you've got to pay
Pay in blood

Then came the time that Miss Issippi missed
Regretted all the moments when she did much more than kissed
Handing out her favours Every night and day
This girl has got to pay

Well I knew a little missy
Her name was Miss Issippi
She ran around and told her tales
She came from up above
But when you ask for love
She just replies it's not for sale

You've heard about her... Poor little Miss Issippi
