What's Mine is Mine

Writen By: Gilbert/Harrison/Morley/Saxton/Timms

Another one of the post Head First songs, this song was a comment on the restriction's terrorism was placing on life in Britain. Thankfully now in the years since it was written, things have improved, but there's still a way to go. Again this one only existed from the Grey Goose gig, 15th January 1992. The reference to the "Ballistics expert" was about the previous night's gig when Simon nearly took Dean's eye out with flying drum stick shrapnel.

You must abide by the law, cos they make the rules
They are the lawbreakers we are the fools
But the time has come it's time to make a stand
They've got to know that they no longer command

You can't tell me I can't say what I want
It's no crime to try and speak your mine

You can see
But you will not find
The truth in me is hidden deep inside my mind
What's mine is mine

The law of the land ain't what we live by today
If we say that it's wrong they're gonna blow us away
But they ain't got the guts to stand and fight with their lives
They're waging a war making widows from wives

You can't tell me I can't say what I want
It's no crime to try and speak your mind

You can see
But you will not find
The truth in me is hidden deep inside my mind
What's mine is mine

They honour the cowards who peddle in grief
The methods they're using dispell my belief
I'd like to ensure they'll get what they deserve
But they'll get what they want cos we ain't got the nerve

You can't tell me I can't say what I want
It's no crime to try and speak your mind

You can see
But you will not find
The truth in me is hidden deep inside my mind
What's mine is mine
