Living with the Fear

Writen By: Gilbert/Harrison/Morley/Saxton/Timms

Written in 1991, the song was about the terrible state of life in the early 90's. Well here we are in 2000 and the song could've been written yesterday - such is life. This song is a prime example of the new technical standard Headstrong had reached in their later days. Unfortunately as this is a post Head First song it wasn't played that often, and the only live copy we have is from The Grey Goose, Gedling on 15th January 1992, and the sound quality on the tape was a little "dull" and "hissy". We've done our best to clean it up, so you can get to hear what it was like.

The home fires are burning tonight
The solar flares are far too bright
Eat away the world at work and play
We're gonna burn ourselves away

We know the problem
We still refuse
Ignorance is no excuse
We are the problem
It's crystal clear
Live our lives in disbelief
Living with the fear of living here

Building new roads as the traffic swells
Building new roads going straight to Hell
In the urban jungle the prophets drown
As rising profits bring the jungles down

We know the problem
We still refuse
Ignorance is no excuse
We are the problem
It's crystal clear
Live our lives in disbelief
Living with the fear of living here

Every passing minute five new kids are born
Waking never knowing whether we will see the dawn
This is not a world that will be passed on
Oppenheimer's child overshadows everyone

Neighbours killing neighbours with shotguns and with knives
No-one understanding why they're taking blameless lives
Building brutal armies to keep all threats at bay
But the way the world is crumbling we'll all die anyway
